Doppler effect with the Michelson interferometer

p2221000_36

Item no.: P2221000

Principle

With the aid of two mirrors in a Michelson arrangement, light isbrought to interference. While moving one of the mirrors, the alterationin the interference pattern is observed and the modulation frequency is measured using the Doppler effect.

Tasks

  1. Construction of a Michelson interferometer using seperate components.
  2. Measurement of the Doppler effect via uniform displacement of one of the mirrors.
